Alabama Alligator Season 2025 Opens June 3
Alabama’s highly anticipated alligator hunting season registration kicks off at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, June 3, 2025. This annual event, managed by the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, offers hunters the opportunity to vie for their chance to participate in regulated hunts across five designated Alligator Management Areas (AMAs) throughout the state.
Registration Details
Hunters wanting to participate must register using their Conservation ID number and date of birth. Registration is exclusively available on the Outdoor Alabama website. The process begins on the first Tuesday in June and closes on the second Tuesday of July. Successful applicants will be selected through a drawing held on the second Wednesday of July.
Eligibility
Eligible participants include Alabama residents and lifetime hunting license holders aged 16 and older with a valid Alabama hunting license. Non-residents meeting similar criteria may also apply. Hunting assistants must hold a valid hunting license, whether resident or non-resident.

– Southwest Zone: 100 tags
– Coastal Zone: 50 tags
– Southeast Zone: 40 tags
– West Central Zone: 50 tags
– Lake Eufaula Zone: 20 tags
Applicants selected for multiple zones must choose a single location for hunting.
