Kings Bend Riverfront
Under Contract as of 11/25/2023
Alabama River adventures await on the banks of the Kings Bend Riverfront property.
Just a few miles from Selma, enter from paved Kings Bend Road onto County Road 862 through the gated entrance. There is a mobile home tenant living on the property who pays rent and keeps an eye on it. Neighboring properties are both fenced for security.
The county road dead ends, leaving a recently upgraded driving access road to the river. Leaving civilization behind you find a peaceful scene.
You can walk to the river’s edge, clear a spot, and throw out a line for catfish. Like to bream fish? You can cut your own pole from the many cane patches, tie a string with a fishhook on the end and fish the way we did at Boy Scout camp. At the end of the day, enjoy the serenity and cook your catch.
The riverbank is low enough to easily construct a fishing pier. There are several relics remaining from previous campers, including a school bus, an old vehicle with jump seat and a river channel marker buoy.
Old power lines run to several potential campsite locations on a flat terrace with many large hardwood shade trees. This area was once a small trailer park and remnants of a well and septic tanks are present. A permanent residence could be built if desired.
